• To Tattoo or Not To Tattoo? •

Getting a tattoo has been on my bucket list for far too long.
At 14, I wanted a inked peace sign on my wrist. At 16, I lusted over an infinity symbol on my hip bone. Shortly after, I wanted to get a sun tattoo while I was on a clubbing holiday with my friends. And THANK GOD I never got any of them, definitely not my thing now...

However, I've wanted a tree design for over a year now and can't imagine ever disliking it. But then did I say that with the peace sign, infinity symbol and sun too? Am I just being really naive? Is a year too short to decide on a picture stamped on my body for the rest of my life?
On the other hand, I kind of like being reckless and spontaneous and I do want to try everything in life. When my impetuous sister began to decorate her forearms with ink, it suddenly became very tempting.

Just really wanted to get these thoughts out in the open.

What do you think about tattoos? Do you have one? Do you want one?

  1. I think the one on the back of her neck looks really pretty :) I can see why you're worried about committing to a tattoo , I personally don't think I'd ever have one because I'm so completely rubbish with pain of any sort but I think they can look really pretty so if you think it will make you happy then go for it ! Your happiness is the most important thing :)

    lots of love, Marianne xxx

  2. Great post! I liked the tattoos you picked, I think they can be beautiful but not for me. Like you mentioned looking back on tattoos you wanted to get and then now cringing at the thought... I feel like that would be me a year after getting one. But if they make you happy, go for it! Life is too short! :D

    1. Yeah that's what I was so worried about! I've actually got one now, and I'm so so happy about it. I think it was worth taking the risk. Thanks for the comment!

  3. I don't have any tattoos, nor do I ever thing I'll get one (but never say never right). However, I actually love tattoos. My boyfriend has them, my parents both have them and my friends have them, it's just me who doesn't trust myself to pick something that I'd be happy with forever but then I've never really longed for one like they all have even though I see so many cool ones which I like...

It sounds to me that it's somewhat you've thought about often and so you're probably always going to want to get one, so why not... And if you grow bored of that one, you can always get another and I like the idea of a tree, it makes for something interesting and unique and is a representation of strength and growth. =D

    1. Yes, I'm with you. I always see so many that I think are beautiful. I actually decided to go through with it and get one... never actually thought i'd be saying that! Your interpretation of the tree is exactly what I was going for. I wanted something that would signify the growth of life. Thanks for the comment!
